Aggressive

This is perhaps one of the most dangerous and serious types of misbehaviors, which must be corrected as soon as it’s discovered. Dogs who bite or display unwanted aggression are not good housemates, and many people give up, sending the dogs to a high-kill shelter because they are just too dangerous. Because of the bacteria… Read More

Off-Leash

If you aspire to enjoy the freedom of having your dog off-leash while exploring your favorite trails or during camping adventures, off-leash training could be a perfect fit for you and your furry companion. Off-leash training is distinct from obedience, although skills such as recall are the foundation of off-leash training. Our trainers will begin… Read More

Reactive

A reactive dog overreacts to normal situations that other dogs would take in stride. They become overstimulated easily and may bark, lunge, and growl at something as simple as another dog or person walking on the other side of the street. Attention to training is extremely important, as reactivity can turn into aggression. The cause… Read More

Socialization

Socialization with dogs, humans, and other animals is a great way to ensure a well-mannered and confident dog. The best time to socialize is between 10-16 weeks of age, but not all dogs get to experience socialization as a puppy. A lot of rescue dogs enter their new homes without proper socialization, which can put… Read More

Matt Meitner OWNER & HEAD TRAINER

Matt’s story is similar to so many others: He adopted a shepherd-lab rescue as a family dog but soon realized she was going to be more than he could handle alone. Bella showed signs of separation anxiety and dog aggression. In January of 2012, he reached out to Jason Loomis with Sit Means Sit-Milwaukee for… Read More

This was the best decision my daughter and I made as it relates to the training of our pet. We had Matt F. as a trainer and we could not be happier with the results. From day one he was extremely transparent about what the training would entail and what was expected of us. He builds a relationship with each dog he trains and his top priority is what’s in the dogs best interest. He is easy to talk to and extremely helpful in problem areas. We have a large dog who is extremely reactive and with Matt’s guidance and training, we now have peace of mind. Keep in mind, with this training it takes commitment and repetition on the part of the owner to continue this program at their home in order for this to be successful. We are now looking forward to the group training that we have access to for the life of our pet and are excited to continue to work with Matt F. He is the best in our opinion. Thank you to all of the Sit Means Sit team!!

I am a veterinarian who came to Matt and Sit Means Sit with a very sweet but very unruly rescue Pitbull puppy named Bosley. Admittedly, I was in over my head with training, but I wanted to learn and be very involved in the training process. Through a lot of time, hard work and patience, Matt has helped me develop Bosley into an incrediblely well behaved boy – I commonly get strangers asking who I worked with for training! Matt’s training has also helped strengthen the bond between myself and my loveable little pup, I am incredibly grateful to their team. I recommend Matt and Sit Means Sit to any of my friends and clients!
